Ben has been involved with WEMSI since their arrival in Europe and has been involved in Pre-Hospital care for over forty years. He is a registered Advanced Paramedic, tutor and examiner with the Pre-Hospital Emergency Caree Council (PHECC) in Ireland, and an Asst. Professor at the Centre for Emergency Medical Science. University College Dublin, (UCD).

He has taught both civilian and military medics. Ben served in the Irish Defence Forces for twenty three years where he was a Helicopter Search And Rescue (SAR) crewman and instructor before joining the National Ambulance Service.

A keen outdoor enthusiast he has been involved in SCUBA diving, hillwalking and is an associate member of DWMRT.
