Hi, I'm John, a Registered EMT with the HSE here in Ireland, presently attached to the National Community Vaccination Programme. As a founding member of the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team, and previously with the An Oige MRT,  I am now over forty years as a mountain rescue volunteer.

Among my favourite outdoor activities would have to be flying, as a tug-pilot with the Leinster Gliding Club, along with flying auto-gyros or gliders. When not in the air..... mountaineering, canoeing, and mountain biking keep me occupied.

I wouldn't really claim to any specific Wilderness Emergency Medical speciality, but like the old Swiss-army knife, I'm a bit of a jack of all trades, with a particular interest in improvised adjuncts for such outdoor injuries as limb fractures and hemorrhage control etc.

As for favourite outdoor snack, where do I begin.......but dried fruit/nut mixes are always welcome.

Guilty pleasure...............well I might keep that to myself for the moment, thank you!
