Hi my name is Maria Kennedy. I have been a WEMSI faculty member over 20 years, as part

of the WEMSI Faculty I work as a Mentor, Instructor and Scenarios.

I am also a member of Civil Defence for 46 years, I worked my way up through the ranks and

I am now a Commander. I am an Instructor in Rescue, CFR, FAR, EFR, Manual and People

Handling.

I am an EMT Practioner on the ambulance with Civil Defence.

I am also Search Responder, coxin/boat handling.

As my job as a Commander I organise Training, Duties at varies events.

Another organisation I am involved with is Rescue Organisation Ireland and we run CPC days

and competitions for professionals and volunteer groups.

I enjoy working with students with different background, cultures and experience.

My favourite outdoor activity is hiking and walking in the rain. Favourite outdoor snack is

chocolate, orange juice and tea.

My hot tip is be prepared for all events, and most importantly enjoy the adventure.
